The day is heating up! Only 94 now in Manhattan. Produce is still looking good, though!

This is a true community market. Community members were even offering new recipes to Jamie to use in her cooking demonstrations during market times. This is a small market with just six vendors, but it had a wide assortment of fruits, vegetables, annuals, bakery items and more.

One of the vendors was a participant in the New Farmer Program, which Green Market is supporting. Uvalle Produce is a family operation – aunt, nephew and other family members sold at the market. The family immigrated from Mexico and is now being helped to make a successful farm here in the US.

This is the first market we saw growers giving samples.
