Congratulations on a successful season! Despite the dry weather in July/August, what a great year for fruit and vegetable growers. We received good prices, had quality production and increased our direct sales here in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Things growers learned this season:
1. Setting tomatoes in early April pays off MOST of the time.
2. It may not be worth the time and effort of growing cucumbers in the late part of the season.
3. Plant an extra section of late pumpkins for the Halloween market – would have paid off big this year.
4. Increase prices – Growers who increased their prices this year didn’t hear any negative feedback. Most of the time we are not charging enough anyway.

Learn about these and other topics at our December Mid-Ohio Valley Vegetable School to be held in Marietta, Ohio. Details to be announced this week!
